Academic Program Assistant

Job Description

The Academic Program Assistant, (virtual), is responsible for providing scheduling support within the Doctoral of Business Administration (DBA) program. The assistant will report to the Program Director for the DBA program and work closely with the Faculty and the College Administration team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate timely communication of faculty mentor assignments to meet enrollment deadlines.
  • Review enrollment using LEAP section roster reports
  • Update and track individual faculty loading for each session
  • Review student submissions for a new Chair
  • Assist the DBA Scheduling designee in assigning the Chair, SCM, and URR for each student
  • Review student submissions for a change in committee members with guidance from the DBA Program Coordinator
  • Review existing committee assignments and update as needed
  • Use Walden databases as needed for committee assignments.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

May perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time.

Skill Requirements

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in operating a Windows-based platform especially Excel, ACCESS, and learn Walden’s administrative database.
  • Experience in online distance-learning environment a must.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, written and verbal communication, detail-oriented, multitasking, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills, able to set and meet deadlines
  • Creative, innovative, strategic, and able to work independently.
  • Able to anticipate future trends and problems and plan for them accordin
