Criterion is looking to hire a 100% remote Software Developer to be part of a team that supports a government customer. This person will provide Development support and O&M support for the USDA Forest Service WildLand Fire Decision Support System (WFDSS). WFDSS has a major GeoSpatial ArcGIS component which is totally integrated into the application. The main use of the ESRI ArcGIS software component is to support the WFDSS application’s fire behavior models (Short Term, Near Term, Basic, FSPro) which gives firefighters an accurate depiction of how the fires will behave in order to save lives and structures. Major inputs to these models include terrain models, vegetation models and weather data. Criterion maintains and updates over 30 geospatial data layers within the application. We utilize the following tools: ArcGIS Desktop Advanced 10.4, ArcCatalog 10.4 and ArcGIS License Manager 10.4. to interact with the geospatial data layers and the back-end Oracle 11G database. The application has over 10,000 users.
