Investigative Technician

Job Description

Perspecta’s risk decision group is the largest provider of background investigation services for the U.S. government in the federal, intelligence and civilian space. We are currently seeking candidates for an Investigative Technician. Candidates for this opening may work from home. The Investigative Technician is responsible for processing all Letter of Assignment (LOA) submissions, validating case data, entering hard copy case materials into CMS, scoping Investigations, assigning case work to Investigators and providing support to the document retention program. This position provides a wide variety of support to Case Managers and Regional Managers. Work is routine and repetitive and follows various standardized operating procedures.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Enters case data
  • Identifies case requirements
  • Assigns investigative assignments for completion
  • Updates databases and other tracking tools as necessary
  • Performs a wide variety of administrative/clerical and analytical tasks
  • Follows established process and procedures to ensure all research and paperwork steps have been completed in a timely manner
  • Prepares routine and special reports as required
  • Interacts with various internal and external contacts with a high degree of customer service tracking

Skill Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • New hire orientation
  • Minimum 6 months to 1 year experience in administrative or related field preferred
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent internet research skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Ability to work with various individuals cooperatively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft office proficiency in Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to quickly develop proficiency working with specialized database applications involving data entry
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality requirements of assigned work which will include sensitive, protected materials
  • U.S. citizenship (required for federal security clearance)
