Manager, Cloud Optimization

Job Description

The role:

Hands on role responsible for implementing the automation, operations and reporting of Ticketmaster’s public cloud spend. The position will be responsible for establishing cohesive governing patterns around usage and spend optimization. You will also be building automated reporting that engineering teams can leverage to implement best practices. Note, you can work in Hollywood, Scottsdale, or remotely.

What the job is:

  • Be the subject matter expert in all cost optimization aspects of AWS cloud services.
  • Take charge of the leadership required in addressing a large scope of Ticketmaster’s engineering team’s AWS spend in a frugal and creative manner, including its architecture and engineering entities.
  • Cross Functional Team Lead for Stakeholders in Operations, Finance, and Engineering for providing transparency, analysis and optimization recommendations for our AWS spend
  • Work with strategic partners on capacity planning and Reserved Instance purchases.
  • Educate and enable engineering teams so that they can deliver cost efficient features.
  • Assessing reporting and analytic needs of leadership and engineering teams, identifying approaches and solutions to meet those needs.
  • Communicate, establish, and measure KPIs to track progress and success of transformation and optimization.
  • Evangelize cost related trends, themes and best practices with engineering teams.
  • Manage numerous requests concurrently & strategically.
  • Understand and communicate billing, forecasting, and budgeting best practices.
  • Work closely with the Finance team on reporting and spend forecasts.

Skill Requirements

What a qualified candidate should possess:

  • Must have had similar role and experience in an enterprise-wide organization.
  • 5 years’ experience working with senior IT executives
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills as well as an aptitude and experience with working with large datasets
  • In-depth knowledge of Public Cloud providers, cloud analytical tools, and the various pricing models

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of presenting to senior management
  • Able to operate successfully in a lean, fast-paced organization
  • MBA or equivalent relevant business experience
