Partner Engagement Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Partner Engagement for one or two assigned Global Partners, which includes managing Business Development, Relationship Management and Delivery
  • Lead the global service delivery experience to the partner - single point of ownership and accountability for all partner service delivery related activities
  • Assure partner outcomes across lifecycle of Plan/Build/Manage for Ciena Blue Planet SW Portfolio

OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE

  • Manage partner level profitability - identify new revenue opportunities, drive revenue recognition, manage efficiencies, drive productivity, manage projects successfully while meeting revenue and cost budgets
  • Maximize partner loyalty and satisfaction with key partner stakeholders by driving value in service delivery
  • Capture and articulate value with key stakeholders
  • Implement industry leading practices (e.g. ITIL Incident Management) around service delivery
  • Measure relevant key performance indicators (e.g. SLAs, availability)
  • Adopt and leverage Ciena best practices around tools, automation, workflows, and process to ensure successful delivery to customers - standardize and replicate where appropriate

STRATEGY

  • Influence partner level services strategy, in conjunction with partner sales leadership to embed Ciena into Partner Referenz Architecture
  • Develop sales and delivery strategy with Partner to drive Partner's end customer business

RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT/COMMUNICATION

  • Successfully collaborate with partner sales leadership and key Ciena stakeholders to execute 1-3-year integrated account plan
  • Apply Ciena solutions to partner 's business drivers
  • Establish and maintain partner executive relationships - senior-most decision makers within the business (e.g. VP Engineering, VP Operations)

INNOVATION/CHANGE ADVOCACY

  • Champion partner requirements and needs into Ciena - engineering, quality, roadmaps, service offer development, etc.

Skill Requirements

Technical Knowledge, Skills and Expertise (can be acquired over time):

  • Working knowledge of IT Automation and Orchestration capabilities and offerings - ability to engage subject matter expertise as appropriate
  • Successfully navigate across Ciena and partner landscape to drive mutual success - understand and manage political realities to achieve goals
  • Knowledge of Ciena Architectures
  • Working knowledge of IT standards/frameworks (e.g. ITIL, eTOM) and trends (e.g. cloud)
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Executive engagement – communication, presence and skills

Education and Experience:

* College Degree (Bachelor, Masters) - technical or business * Technical & Business certifications (e.g. ITIL, CISSP, PMP) * 10-12 years relevant industry related experience (e.g. IT domain expertise)
