The Marketing Manager may report to either the Director of Marketing or the Manager Marketing depending on assigned product line(s). The Marketing Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing marketing activities for assigned product lines. The primary responsibility of the Marketing Manager is to develop and execute Marketing Plans for his/her product lines. In this regard, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing a variety of sales support tools, including product presentations and training, in a fast and accurate manner. In addition, the Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing customer-facing product information, including web pages, catalog descriptions, and product brochures in a manner that optimizes product strengths and competitive advantages.

The Marketing Manager will work closely with the Integrated Marketing Services team in the creation of the internal and external marketing communications deliverables mentioned above, and will also work closely with the Sales organization in the development of sales support materials. The Marketing Manager will also work with the Events team in planning and supporting relevant conferences.

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for working within assigned project budgets. They will also have or share product line revenue responsibility – depending on the product area, as well as assigned product(s).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing marketing plans to support assigned product lines that maximize revenue.
  • Developing Sales Support materials that effectively deliver the product message.
  • Executing the tactics and programs identified in the Marketing Plan, including web page creation, product brochures, DRM campaigns, product presentations, marketing research, etc.
  • Participating in tradeshow and events planning to optimize product messaging at such events.

Skill Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in related field required.
  • 3-5 years work experience as a Marketing Specialist or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in educational publishing preferred.
  • Strong track record of working on cross-functional teams required.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Good time management skills and organizational skills required.
  • Experience in online marketing techniques required, including email, social media, product demos (such as Brainshark or Camtasia).
